Adding Z-Wave Devices to OpenHAB

Steps for adding a Z-Wave device to OpenHAB 2

It’s not super clear in the tutorials how to add a Z-Wave device to OpenHAB 2, but it’s easy to do.

  1. Click Configuration and then Things
  2. Click the + sign to add a new Thing
  3. Select the Z-Wave Binding

At this point it will go into Inclusion mode and will search for your device. Press the button on your device and let the two talk for a minute to sync up. You should then see the Thing appear in the Inbox and can add it normally.
